About me - Petros, night train fan & experienced world traveller on rails
Hi, I'm Petros - a passionate night train traveller, father and your personal contact for all things train travel in Europe and around the world.
My love of night trains began in my childhood: my father regularly took me on night train journeys during the school holidays - especially often to France. These experiences left their mark on me and awakened my enthusiasm for travelling by rail. Today, over 35 years lateryou can still find me regularly travelling on night trains - all over Europe and beyond.
I am now a father myself - and it is a pleasure to carry on the tradition: Together with my son, I discover new cities and countries - environmentally friendly, relaxed and full of beautiful moments that you don't get to experience on a plane. For me, night trains are the best way to cover long distances with a child - with plenty of time for conversation, anticipation of the destination and genuine travelling experiences.
Why this page exists
nachtzug.net is a project close to my heart.
I share my experiences, tips and up-to-date knowledge about night train connections here - first-hand. If I can help others with my passion for travelling by train, I'm even happier. It's important to me to help you travel more sustainably, stress-free and consciously.
The information on this website is based on my own research and travelling experience. Nevertheless: Timetables may change - Therefore, you should definitely check the website of the respective railway company on the day of travel. And of course: The details on your train ticket are always binding.
A few more personal words
I would love to have more Photos, experience reports and travel inspiration publish - but as you can imagine: With family, work and increased ticket prices for sleeping cars, it's not always that easy. So please be patient - the site will continue to grow bit by bit.
If you notice a mistake or have a good tip - Feel free to contact me!
I look forward to every message.
Enjoy browsing & travelling - and maybe we'll see you on the train!
Kind regards,
Petros 🚆🙂
