  1. Good day,

I would like to travel with my son (9) to Vienna by night train on Monday, 25 March and return on Friday, 29 March. I would like to book a private compartment in a sleeping car.
+ - 1 day return journey is possible.

Are there still places available? How much do the tickets cost? Could you send me an offer?

    best regards

    Henry

    1. Hello Henry.
The easiest way is to check the website of the ÖBB (Austrian State Railways):
      https://rail.shop/oebb
On 25 March 2024 there is a sleeper coach for 2 people from Cologne to Vienna for 394 EUR. Important: select the option "Economy comfort incl. reservation".
On 29 March 2024 from Vienna to Cologne, there is only one 3-seater sleeping car seat left (someone else can be in the compartment with you) or a private couchette compartment (500 EUR - entire couchette compartment for you alone, without strangers).
      I hope this helps.
      Many greetings, Peter 🙂

      1. Another option would be to take the night train from Vienna to Hanover on 29 March. This is the new generation, quite nice trains.
In the sleeping car for 2 persons "Compartment comfort 2 persons with private WC": Select "Economy comfort incl. reservation".
And then from Hanover to Cologne on the ICE with a change in Frankfurt. But that's an extra 3 hours travelling time.
