Which travel categories are available on the Berlin–Hamburg–Stockholm night train?
There are seating cars, couchette cars and sleeping cars. The seating car is the lowest-priced category. In the couchette car, you travel lying down, either as an individual berth in a shared compartment or in a private compartment. In the sleeping car, you travel in a real bed; depending on the category, with a washbasin in the compartment or with a private bathroom including shower and WC.
What is the difference between a couchette car and a sleeping car?
In the couchette car, the compartment is converted into berths for the night. A compartment can be occupied by up to six people. In the sleeping car, there are real beds, more privacy and breakfast is included. First class in the sleeping car also offers a private bathroom with shower and WC.
Are private compartments available?
Yes. In the couchette car, a private compartment without other travellers can be booked. In first-class sleeping car accommodation, you always travel in a private compartment. In second-class sleeping car accommodation, you can book your own compartment or share a compartment, depending on availability.
Is there Wi-Fi on the Berlin–Hamburg–Stockholm night train?
No, Wi-Fi is not available on the train. Download films, music, maps and important travel documents before the journey. Power sockets are generally available, but continuous power supply throughout the night is not guaranteed.
Is breakfast included on the night train?
Breakfast is included in the sleeping car. In first class, it is served in the compartment. In second class, depending on the journey, it is served in the bistro or collected from the onboard kiosk. In the couchette car and seating car, breakfast is not automatically included.

How much luggage can I take?
One piece of luggage with maximum dimensions of 80 × 50 × 35 cm and up to 20 kg is allowed, plus one additional piece of hand luggage. Storage space on the train is limited, and you must carry and safely stow your luggage yourself.
